I don't know what's causing your problems, but I suggest that you wait until 
Dr Ralph releases his PortAuthority utility. It's supposed to be coming 
pretty soon, and it can automatically port Escape Velocity and EV Override 
data to the new format, which means that you don't have to worry about the 
possiblity that you somehow introduced the errors by doing the conversion 
wrong.
