I beg to differ.

I agree, it would be a significant amount of work; also, it is highly 
unlikely that Ambrosia would ever officially release such a product.  Also, 
there have been several unsuccessful (to put it mildly) attempts at doing 
this.  Nevertheless, it is certainly *possible*, and I don't think it's fair 
to say it wouldn't be fun without trying it first.  Anyone is certainly 
welcome to try, and rejecting such efforts out of hand (i.e., saying "any 
type of Networked/Multiplayer/EverQuest-type EV will be impossible") is 
certainly not the most helpful course of action.  A warning that such a 
project will be difficult at best would probably be more appropriate.
