[delta_v] LAN gaming with EV

I've read all the debates, and all the controversy, and I agree that a
MMORPG is impractical. However, what about just doing it on LAN, kind of
like Quake or UT. Plugins would work, just look at Mods for UT. I agree that
it may be difficult, and that the engine would have to be rewritten, and
that the date system would have to be scrapped. Perhaps instead of ``EV'',
it could just be a "space battle game" from Ambroisa. To balance server
load, a limit could be put in. Possibly the load could be balanced by having
multiple machines acting as servers. Addressing the "Date" issue, there's
really no need if it's just a ``space battle'' game (I assume that's what
most people want to do in MMORPG:EV). I'm not stupid, I realize that there
are limitations to server load and on the data pipe. It's not really a
question of if but when someone delevopes a similar type of game. Some
crazed EV fan living purely on Jolt and Cheesy-Poofs. It's inevitable. It
may even be in the works right now
